What To Expect in Paris This March 2021

February 20, 2021
2021-02-20
In the blink of an eye, it's already March! Or, at least, it's about to be! You know what they say, 'Time flies!' And especially now that all of the worlds have been stuck at home or indoors, it all seems like time is just passing by. However, that doesn't mean there aren't exciting things in store. On the contrary, here in Paris, there's a number of events, exhibitions, and more to look forward to this coming March. While the pandemic still looms largely here in France, the capital city is already taking a few baby steps to a more normal March 2021. Here's what to expect!
What To Expect in Paris This March 2021

Paris Fashion Week (March 1 - 9)

At the start of March, Paris will once again set the stage for Fashion Week. An entire week of shows where the most notable designer brands present their latest collections for the upcoming autumn/winter seasons. Usually, this time of the year, which happens pretty often as Paris sees a lot of different types of fashion weeks, sees the city at its busiest. Most hotel rooms are booked, streets are always seeing traffic jams, and so many people, albeit beautifully dressed, are rushing out to so many places. This coming fashion week, however, it's going to be a lot calmer as the city—the entire country, actually—is still in lockdown!

Women Painters at Musée du Luxembourg (Starts at March 3)

Go to any of the museums in Paris and you'll notice that practically all of the stunning paintings displayed are by men. And while they're all legendary and historic men, it's a shame that not a lot of female artists are highlighted as much in what many regard as the art capital of the world. Fortunately, starting this coming March 3, 2021, that's all about to change! The famous Musée du Luxembourg will host a new exhibition called 'Women Painters,' paying reverence to the forgotten female artists of the past. Here's to hoping they'll have a virtual tour of the exhibition online as well!

Run Experience Trade Show (Starts at March 7)

Unbeknownst to many out there, Parisians love to exercise. Whether it's yoga, doing CrossFit, or just a regular workout in a gym, you won't have to wonder why people from Paris are often so thin and svelte yet the city has some of the best food in the world. There's also, of course, the famous Paris marathon. This year, that will be held in September, however, this coming March 7, there will be a trade show at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles called 'Run Experience.' All about running in Paris, it will give you all the info you need about joining the Paris Marathon!

Harry Styles : Love On Tour (March 8)

Harry Styles is, without a doubt, one of the biggest and brightest stars to ever come from the UK in recent years. From starting out in One Direction to eventually going solo, he has a lot going for him nowadays. So much so that he even has a concert in Paris next month! On March 9, 2021, Harry Styles will perform live at the Accor Arena in the Bercy district in Paris, for his Love On Tour! Performing songs from his latest 'Fine Line' album, it's one of the most anticipated concerts in Paris for a while!

Turner: Exposure Exhibit (Starts at March 13)

Up for some more art? You can head on over to Musée Jacquemart-André starting March 13, 2021, to see the amazing works of Sir Joseph Mallord William Turner, the great British landscape artist. A master of watercolor and oil, his scenic masterpieces have enchanted many throughout the years. He has a sort of poignant feel to his art, one that can bring out somber emotions without overwhelming the eye. It's an exhibition that art lovers must see when they're in Paris! Don't worry, it will run until July 20 of this year so you have plenty of time!

LivreParis (March 19 - 21)

Once you've been to Paris a couple of times, you'll soon realize that the people here love to read books. Be it French classics or modern novels, you'll see a lot of them reading in a café, on the bench in the park, and many other places. But perhaps you'll see the Parisians' love for reading even more so when you go to LivreParis this March 2021. Running from the 19th to the 21st, it's the city's annual massive book fair held at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Center in the 15th arrondissement. For all you bookworms out there in the French capital, you won't want to miss it!

Paris will be so busy this March 2021 that it will almost seem as if the Covid-19 pandemic never happened. With that said, as a safety pre-caution, if you plan on attending any or all of these events, make sure to always wear a mask and practice social distancing!
