Budapest is definitely up there. Or to be more accurate, the two markets in Budapest. The fact that the Hungarian capital sets up two equally exciting and similarly festive and bright markets make it one of the best Christmas destination in the world. The one on Vörösmarty Square has stalls selling the most scrumptious holiday treats and the most adorable knick-knacks. You'll now doubt see a thing or two worth bringing back home as Christmas gifts. The one near the famous St. Stephen's Basilica, on the other hand, is worth visiting for the stunning scenery alone. The place looks straight out of an old Christmas postcard!
