No matter what your idea of Paris may be, you can't really sum it up that easily. Sure, the city does have a number of iconic landmarks, famous monuments, and world-renowned spots, but those are only part of it. Paris, as a whole, is much more complex. And you need to realize this before relocating here. If you do end up moving to the French capital, know that not all arrondissements are the same. You need to be wise in choosing one that suits you and your needs. Perhaps, the 2nd arrondissement is just that? Well, you'll find out once you get to know more about it!

A Good Distance from The Famous Tourist Spots

From an outsider's point of view, it's easy to think that Paris is only made up of famous attractions and hotspots. In fact, they're not even all within the same arrondissement. It may be hard for you to believe that there are actually some that don't have any at all. Case in point: the 2nd arrondissement. Though there are still numerous tourist attractions there, they're not as famous as the likes of the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, and more. However, this arrondissement is near them. And because of this, living here gets you the peace you want in Paris with the most famous landmarks just a stone's throw away!

Wide Streets and Avenues

The Champs-Élysées isn't the only wide avenue in Paris. In fact, here in the 2nd arrondissement, there's plenty of them, making this area perfect for those who drive their own cars. Or prefer street-based public transport like taking a cab or bus. And not for nothing, some of these wide streets and avenues are, themselves, quite the attractions. In the Montorgueil district, there's, of course, Rue de Montorgueil. It's a series of restaurants, cafés, patisseries, boulangeries, brasseries, markets, and more. You can spend an entire day just walking along and enjoying what this famous street has to offer.

A Chill Nightlife

Speaking of Rue de Montorgueil, this street is one of many where you can find the hottest nightlife spots in the area, as well as in the city as a whole. In general, the 2nd arrondissement is a relatively peaceful part of the city. But at night, expect things to liven up and get more exciting! But don't expect the nightlife here to be all clubs and discos. The 2nd arrondissement boasts a more chill nightlife than that. Le Central, Frenchie Bar à Vins, La Fusée, and Café Le Brebant are just some of where you can go to once the sun has set and the city lights up.

Great Shopping Here

Great shopping is practically everywhere in Paris! It's the home of designer brands and luxury labels, after all! But let's face it: not everyone in Paris can afford them. And if you're within this particular market, you probably prefer shopping at less expensive but still quality shops and boutiques. This is what makes the 2nd arrondissement a great home for any shopaholic. Not only is this are full of quirky but affordable stores (Sézane, Galerie Vivienne, and more!), but the 1st arrondissement, which happened to be where Rue St. Honoré is located, is easy to get to.

An Entertaining Corner of Paris

Here in the 2nd arrondissement, you can get your fair share of entertainment! And since you're living in such a busy city like Paris, you'll want that a lot! To distract yourself from daily life and just let loose. Opéra Comique is a great place for just that! A historic theater that houses its own troupes, their comedic plays will have you laughing all night long. As will Le Grand Rex, another theater with its own significant history. Not only will you get to watch movies here, but it also has a concert hall and a club!

High-Class Hotels Nearby

You're already living in Paris, why would living near hotels be important? Well, for. many reasons! One is that you get to go on a staycation as often as you can. If you can afford to go on one every weekend, why not? Since there's a number of luxurious hotels nearby, there's a lot of opportunities to do so. Secondly, if you're in the corporate world and you have to entertain clients, especially those who traveled from different countries, taking them to any of these five/four/three-star establishments will work just fine. They're all in Paris, which means there's more than a good chance that the food here is excellent!

Novel Nostalgia

Finally, when you relocate to Paris, particularly to its 2nd arrondissement, you'll get hit with a huge dose of nostalgia. The French capital, as a whole, is one bog nostalgic trip altogether. From centuries-old structures to 1920s hotspots, the French sure know how to preserve what they have. And it's more highlighted in this arrondissement than in others. From the classic architecture to the many traditional still held here, you can't help but feel that the past lingers on in this area. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. For a new resident such as yourself, you'll get to know the city more in such a place.

When choosing where in Paris you're going to relocate to, don't count the 2nd arrondissement of Paris out just because there aren't a lot of world-famous tourist spots here. You'll find that it's that exact reason why you'll enjoy living here than in another area!

Additionally, you'll really enjoy your new life in Paris if you got a luxury rental as your home here! That's definitely the best way to go!
