This part of Calle Balmes is where Museo Geologic del Seminari de Barcelona and the Univeristy of Barcelona is located. This area is in a prime location and very near an intersection. There's a bus stop on the other side of the street.
Two blocks away, via Carrer de Valencia and you'll be at Paseo de Gracia. Walking is very ideal in this area as it is very safe and is very near a police station. Being in close proximity with a university, it is only fitting to also find several bookstores around the neighborhood. Walking distance is Plaza Letemendi, nearby park near the Tax Collector's Office.
The area is surrounded by numerous establishments. From restaurants, cafes, bars, and salons, banks, pharmacies, shopping malls, parks and gardens,universities as well as the Coliseum, a known theater and cinema in the Barcelona.
