The name translates to “Children's Museum” so you know it's a great place to bring your family in Milan. Museo dei Bambini is a non-profit interactive museum where kids can learn and play at the same time. It features a variety of workshops suitable for all ages. Toddlers can run around and play while the older kids can pretend to do jobs that grown-ups do. A team of educators curate this museum, constantly filling it up with exciting games and activities to stimulate both the mind and body of children.
Leonardo da Vinci National Science Museum
The Leonardo da Vinci National Science Museum on Via San Vittore is another kid-friendly museum where the little ones can have tons of fun. Don't let the Renaissance building and impressive exhibits fool you! The place may seem like a standard museum at first, but it also has interactive features that encourage children to learn and play at the same time. But do take note that this isn't the sort of museum where they can go wild like in Museo dei Bambini. This is more of a refined gallery where various
schools in Milan take their students on field trips.
Milan Natural History Museum
Another such museum is the Milan Natural History Museum in the Indro Montanelli Gardens. Here, you kids will learn a lot about the Earth, from different species of plants and animals to the various natural phenomena that shaped the planet to what it is now. They'll also be dazzled by the incredible displays. The replicas of animals look so real, they'll terrify the little ones. The dinosaur bones, on the other hand, are always a major favorite for future archeologists in your family. And don't forget the dioramas too! They're pretty stellar in their own right!
Sforza Castle
Just the fact that they're in a real-life castle will have your little ones jumping with joy! Sforza Castle always makes for a great
day trip in Milan. It's a man-made marvel that never fails to fascinate, from its medieval fortification to its impressive collection of artworks inside. Today, Sforza Castle serves as a museum of Milan's history and heritage. It's a great place to learn more about the city and the country at large. Acquatica Waterpark
Even though Milan gets all four seasons, it's still in Italy, one of the hottest countries in Europe. Don't underestimate just how hot it can get around spring and summer. At times, it won't be enough to just turn on the air-conditioner in your
luxury apartment in Milan. You might have to take your whole family to Acquatica Waterpark to cool off. This is the city's premier waterpark, after all. It's an entire water-filled wonderland complete with huge swirling slides, massive pools, and giant fountains. There are also wading pools for the little ones to have their share of fun under the sun too!
Leolandia Park
Finally, there's Leolandia Park, Milan's own theme park. Not only is it one of the city's best family-friendly attractions, but it's also among the best theme parks in all of Italy. It may not be Disneyland, but there are other famous characters your kids can meet. They can ride Thomas The Train, for example, and fall in love with him all over again. Catboy, Owlette, and Gekko of PJ Masks are also here, ready to dance and play with the kids to their hearts' content. And beyond all of that, there’s still a treasure trove of rides and games for the whole family in Milan.
