Vienna doesn't look like a fun city, does it? Beautiful? Yes! Historic? Of course! But fun? By and large, Vienna has often been seen as quite an academic and artistic city. Home to legendary composers, political figures, and more. But that just because this is true doesn't mean that there's no fun to the Austrian capital! Even for your kids! Sure, your little ones might not appreciate going to palaces, attending concerts in grand opera halls, and the like. But Vienna has enough playgrounds, parks, and more to keep them excited whilst in the city!

Schönbrunn Palace

Let's begin with Schönbrunn Palace! You're probably raising your eyebrows right now as to why this place is even part of this list in the first place! visiting this attraction might be a 'must-do' for adults spending a day in Vienna, but would your kids really appreciate you taking them here? They would once they see the amazing playground on the palace grounds! Made up of what looks like a set of abstract sculptures, the slides, jungle-gym, and more here are actually works of art. After a day of touring the iconic landmark, they'll love running around and playing here for a bit!

Stadtpark

Stadtpark is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful parks in the world. Located amidst many of Vienna's neighborhoods, it's become a central part of the Austrian capital. However, its beauty alone won't excite your kids all that much. But the playground and the vast space here? They'll be running around in no time! Of course, there are your classic slides, swings, see-saws, climbing frames, and the like. But there's also the skatepark, the football field, and more! There's practically no end to how much fun you and the entire family can have while spending the day here!

Liechtensteinpark

It's pretty much the same in Liechtensteinpark too! Though the place is, undoubtedly, one of the most stunning spots in the entire city, your kids will likely prefer playing in the playground instead. With all the classic features on offer, you'll be able to leave them there (with a guardian, of course!) as you stroll around and see the natural wonders this park offers. In essence, Liechtensteinpark is a place that's more for adults than young kids, but this playground is able to invite families to come over and spend the day here.

Jesuitenwiese Meadow in the Prater

A mini castle, a 30 meter-long slide, and a Ferris wheel that give stunning views of the meadow. Is it any wonder why kids love going to Jesuitenwiese Meadow in the Prater? This beautiful patch of land in Vienna offers a lot of excitement for the young ones. They can choose to play among themselves in the standard playgrounds in the meadow. Or they can ride all sorts of attractions in the theme park-like features in the place! If there's still any debate as to whether Vienna is a fun city for kids, the Jesuitenwiese Meadow in the Prater closes all the arguments down!

Danube Island

When you visit or move to Vienna, you'll realize that, while it's often cooler here than in other countries, it does have its occasional heat spells. Most especially during summer. So when the heat gets a little too much for you and the little ones, you can always go to Dabune Island! A recreation paradise away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, the water playground here will have your kids splashing and swimming about in no time. The sprinklers will also have them running about, so make sure you look after them as you cool yourself off too!

Robinson Island

Another island that may catch your kids' attention is Robinson Island. Located within the more nature-bound corners of the Austrian capital, it's a playground that's focused on the environment. In fact, it's highly likely they'll learn (and appreciate) more about Mother Earth here than in some of the schools in the city! Because apart from the classic playground features here, there are also exhibits and galleries that show just how fascinating nature really is. But, of course, your little ones will probably prefer climbing up the rope ladders and treehouses than learning about all that stuff!

Cobenzl

Speaking of nature, wouldn't your kids love pretending to be forest sprites? If so, they'll love playing in the forest playground on Cobenzl. Apart from the usual playground features, a unique piece in this place is the organ that can play the sounds of the forest. They'll feel like they're in some sort of magical world the moment they listen to it! Or they can pretend they're monkeys as they climb up the climbing tower as well. As for the toddlers? The wooded see-saw is right up their alley! It's quite the playtime here in Cobenzle. A guaranteed unforgettable one at that!

Just because Vienna is full of old palaces, historic castles, vast museums, and the like, doesn't mean it's not fun for the kids who go here. You can always take them to the many playgrounds in the Austrian capital. They offer quite the fun playtime ahead!

Having fun in Vienna isn't complete if you don't have a great place to come home to! Fortunately, there are countless luxury homes on offer in the Austrian capital!
