The fashions at the
Cannes Film Festival 2023 did not disappoint! Year after year, this world-famous event draws attention thanks to its most well-dressed attendees. Though the festival is all about excellent filmmaking, it's become one of the most fashionable events of the year. And the 2023 edition is no different! Take a look at Natalie Portman, who looked exquisite in vintage Dior haute couture. Speaking of Dior, Jennifer Lawrence's elegant minimalist moment was also noteworthy. Not to mention supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio, who was every inch a goddess in Elie Saab. The entire Cannes Film Festival this year was a fashionable affair as always.
Natalie Portman in Dior Haute Couture
Without a doubt, Natalie Portman stepping out in a reproduction of the legendary Dior “Junon” haute couture dress from 1949 was this edition's finest fashion moment.
Haute couture has been a staple for Cannes Film Festival's fashion fanfare, but wearing something vintage—even though it's just a reproduction—is quite rare. Yet the Academy Award-winning actress looked absolutely exquisite. With her hair up in a nice low bun and dainty diamond earrings as her only accessories, she looked like a real-life fairytale princess.

Jennifer Lawrence in Custom Dior
Another Academy Award-winning actress and Portman's fellow Dior brand ambassador, Jennifer Lawrence, also wore the
French designer label when she made her first appearance at this year's Cannes Film Festival. But while Portman gave “fairytale fantasy,” Lawrence offered a more minimalist approach. Her crimson-colored custom Dior dress barely had any frills or decoration, yet that was the best part. It accentuated the actress's natural beauty, complete with her blonde locks and rose-tinted lips. In a way, her look harkened back to one of her first-ever red-carpet appearances at the 83rd Oscars in 2011.

Jennie Kim in Chanel
Seeing as this was her first Cannes appearance, it was only natural that BlackPink member, Jennie Kim's major fashion moment would create a lot of buzz. The K-Pop star turned heads in her Chanel haute couture dress, which almost looked like a more elegant version of what she wore at the recent Met Gala in
New York earlier this month. This time, however, her black-and-white number made her look more regal and refined. She exuded such grace when she posed for the cameras on the red carpet.

Viola Davis in Valentino Haute Couture
Viola Davis looked every inch a silver screen queen in her fabulous Valentino Haute Couture. The one-shoulder white column gown made her dark skin pop out even more, letting her glow like the beauty that she is. Paired with what looked like a kilometer-long marabou feather boa, the Academy Award-winning actress provided a nice touch of drama on the Cannes Film Festival 2023 red carpet. The color reigned the look in and elevated its refinement but the boa amped up the glamour tenfold.

Naomi Campbell in Celine
From one dark-skinned beauty to the next, supermodel Naomi Campbell proved that she still got it when she stepped on the Cannes red carpet in a sparkly silver Celine dress. Though she was always a
French fashion magazine cover-worthy beauty, she had a different glow this time around. Her dress was simple (some would even go so far as to say “basic”), but she still looked like a million bucks. Perhaps this is the “stealth wealth” style that's becoming a trend nowadays. And you can always trust Naomi Campbell to make simple look spectacular!

Gigi Hadid in Custom Zac Posen
Speaking of simple style, no one did quite like Gigi Hadid in custom Zac Posen. In her sculptured khaki-colored look, her natural beauty shone through. She almost looked like a
French Riviera goddess as she posed for the cameras on the red carpet. And by smartly pairing her Messika jewelry with such a minimal gown, she really sparkled at the Cannes Film Festival this year. It was as if she proved to everyone that she was more than just a nepo baby and that she deserves her supermodel status.

Alessandra Ambrosio in Elie Saab
Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio is a
Cannes Film Festival style star that never fails to dazzle on the red carpet. Year after year, she attends this iconic event looking just that... iconic! And this 2023 is no different. She helped open the event by being one of the first major stars to walk the red carpet. And by wearing her superbly-fitting Elie Saab gown, she set social media ablaze! Practically everyone fawned over her veiled look, which made her look like an absolute siren. She was definitely among the sexiest attendees this year!

Grace Elizabeth in Rasario
In a sea of big-named supermodels, American model Grace Elizabeth was never among the most famous. She may have graced Vogue covers and walked on high fashion runways during
Paris Fashion Week, but compared to Gigi Hadid and Naomi Campbell, she's practically nameless. But perhaps that may all change after she stunned everyone with her Old Hollywood-inspired look on the Cannes Film Festival 2023 red carpet. Sporting a divinely draped Rasario dress with matching feather shawl and train, she channeled Elizabeth Taylor, Mae West, and Hedy Lamarr all in one!

Elle Fanning in Alexander McQueen
Elle Fanning never fails to amp up the fashion game at the Cannes Film Festival. The American actress continues charm everyone with her ethereal looks. This time around, she wore a stunning custom Alexander McQueen dress. The glittering silver bodice provided her usual sparkle while the cream tulle skirt gave off her signature fairytale-like whimsy. Moreover, by putting her hair up in a bun, she evoked the elegance of Grace Kelly on that red carpet.

Iris Law in Saint Laurent
Compared to other famous red carpet events like the Oscars or the Met Gala, the Cannes Film Festival was always the one where celebrities could get a bit bolder with their sartorial choices. Take Iris Law, for example, who stepped out in a lacey LBD by Saint Laurent. While everyone else went with floor-length gowns, her sheer cocktail dress was a nice contrast. Not to mention an elegantly erotic one too. With the translucent black chiffon and lace barely covering her body, Law looked straight out of a
sexy French film. The kind that would often premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
As expected, Cannes Film Festival 2023 was a fashionable affair. A-list stars put out all the stops in showcasing their glamorous and luxurious styles on the event's iconic red carpet. There's no doubt that people will never forget their looks this year!
