Paris is definitely where you'll want to be this December 2025. Not only is the city always a good time every holiday season, but next month will also bring about all sorts of exciting events. Much like the past year, for instance, international artists are slated to perform live in Paris, including Belgian-Canadian singer Lara Fabian. Many of the city's iconic landmarks will also open their annual ice skating rinks, not the least of which is the Grand Palais, among many others. And of course, Christmas and New Year's Eve will be a ball in Paris as always!
International Artists Live in Paris
While it's not exactly Hollywood, Paris continues to welcome the most famous international artists to perform live. Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Billie Eilish have all performed here this past year, and in December 2025, more big names are taking to the stage in Paris. First up is Ed Sheeran, whose hit love songs have had audiences swooning the world over. The award-winning English singer-songwriter is taking his latest world tour to Zénith de Paris on December 1st. Afterward, Canadian-Belgian singer Lara Fabian will be singing her heart out at the Accor Arena in the
12th arrondissement on December 7th.
Tour Jean Sans Peur Medieval Christmas Market (December 6 to 7)
While most
Christmas markets in Paris stay open all month long, some are only up for a few days, making them a bit more special. One such is the Medieval Christmas Market at Tour Jean Sans Peur in the 2nd arrondissement. Think of it as a Renaissance fair of sorts, sprinkled with a little bit of holiday cheer to make things more festive. But what makes this even more enchanting is that the market is set within actual medieval structures in Paris, giving it a level of authenticity that you won't find anywhere else.
Grand Palais Ice Rink Opens (December 13)
You know the Grand Palais in the
8th arrondissement, right? It's Paris's most breathtaking exhibition space, designed in the eye-catching neoclassical Beaux-Arts style; a majestic proof of the city's old-world grandeur. Now, imagine ice skating in such a beautiful place this December 2025! Fortunately, you can do that starting December 13th. Though Paris has many other ice skating rinks, including one in the Tuileries Garden, the one in the Grand Palais is arguably the most magical of them all. It's not every day you can glide across one of the world's most historic halls!

African Christmas Market (December 14)
Another of Paris's more unique, limited-time Christmas markets is the African Christmas Market, which will happen on December 14th. Located in MAS Paris in the
13th arrondissement, the market stays true to its name in featuring and highlighting Pan-African culture for all of Paris to see and experience. From treats to trinkets and everything in between, this is a great opportunity to learn more about this wonderful continent and its many fascinating traditions. The event even holds workshops, tastings, and a fashion show featuring authentic traditional wear. What's not to love?
Hanukkah (December 14 to 22)
It's worth noting that Christmas isn't the only holiday that Paris celebrates every December; Hanukkah is just as common in the city, especially with the fairly large Jewish community here. Hence, from December 14th to the 22nd, you'll see many of Paris's Jewish locals celebrating this annual Festival of Lights. The city even sets up giant menorahs throughout various
neighborhoods in Paris, allowing those of the Jewish faith to take part in their custom no matter where they are in the city, and for everyone else to witness this centuries-long tradition.
Feminist Christmas Market (December 17)
Up for another unique, limited-time Christmas market in Paris? Then head to Ground Control on Rue du Charolais to see the city's annual Feminist Christmas Market. Yes, you read that right! Girl power takes center stage in this unique, one-day Christmas market, which will happen on December 21st. Here, all sorts of stalls will sell all sorts of crafts, treats, and other cool items, celebrating the creativity and ingenuity of modern womankind. It's a great place to not only get some Christmas shopping done, but also to support local businesswomen in Paris.
Christmas Day (December 25)
You can't have a list of Paris's many events in December 2025 without mentioning Christmas! This is
the main holiday of the season, after all, almost as if the whole month was leading up to this one special day. And while not everyone in the city is Christian—nor religious, for that matter—Christmas has become this universal event that people of all beliefs, traditions, and more celebrate. Naturally, as a public
holiday in France, most offices and schools are closed in Paris on December 25th. It's the best time to bond with family and friends, and perhaps even enjoy the city's many pleasures while you're at it!
New Year's Eve (December 31)
If you thought Paris would be festive on Christmas Day, wait until New Year's Eve rolls around on December 31st. To say that the city turns into one huge party on the last day of the year is an understatement! Celebrating
New Year's Eve in Paris is practically on many people's bucket lists—that's how fun it is to end the year in this city! Many streets practically become block parties, people all around are hollering and laughing about, and the most iconic landmarks show off the most spectacular fireworks displays. The one by the Arc de Triomphe is so iconic, the whole world often watches it on TV, even countries that are already well into the new year.
December 2025 in Paris is about to be lit, and it’s not just for the holidays! The city has a lot in store next month, from the likes of Ed Sheeran and Doja Cat performing live to the many charming markets all around.
