Queens High School for the Sciences at York College

For the high schools in New York, the Queens High School for the Sciences at York College on St. Jamaica street is one of the best-known in the city. It's even ranked 28th among all schools in the country, as well as 3rd among the high schools in the Big Apple. As expected, the students excel in sciences the most, particularly because the campus is equipped with top-notch facilities that make conducting all sorts of experiments possible. However, the schools is also well-known for their math and reading departments. It has scored high on proficiency for both as well. 


Staten Island Technical High School

Staten Island is often an overlooked part of New York City. At least, for tourists. But for locals, they know that the Staten Island Technical High School has garnered quite the respect and prominence over the years. In the national ranking of STEM schools, it has ranked within the top 100. But overall, the school has scored pretty well in subjects such as math, science, and reading. And it helps that the school has quite the commendable faculty, full of professionals devoted to ensuring that their students are ready to face the world once they graduate.

Stuyvesant High Schools is a public school to watch located in the Tribeca area of Manhattan, one of the more peaceful districts of New York. Having ranked #25 among all the high schools in the nations, 2nd in the city and state, and #32 among STEM high schools, it's no surprise that many parents have preferred to send their kids here. Even some children who live in the other boroughs of the Big Apple have enrolled their kids here, resulting in a diverse student body. Overall, the school has scored quite well in terms of math skills and reading proficiency. 


Townsend Harris High School

If you're looking for what many consider to be the number one high school in New York City, look no further than Townsend Harris High school. You'd think that such a prestigious school would be in Manhattan, right? Well, this particular institution is actually in Flushing, Queens. It's even considered to be the crowning jewel of the community here. Because apart from ranking first among the schools in the city, it has also ranked fifth among national schools. More often than not, the students here get good grades in both literature, art, and scientific subjects too.
