October 18, 2025

Many have already said this, but it's still worth repeating—Miami ought to be in the running for the title of America's food capital. While the city may have to face such heavy hitters as New York City and San Francisco, the city is more than able to hold their own. Miami even boasts more than a handful of Michelin-starred restaurants, after all, each more world-class than the next. From the iconic two-star L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon to Chef Alain Verzeroli's exquisite Le Jardinier Miami, not to mention the authentically Japanese Ogawa, culinary excellence also reigns supreme in Miami!

Ariete

Surprise surprise! One of Miami's Michelin-starred restaurants is situated in the city's most upscale neighborhood: Coconut Grove. Ariete serves a fabulous fusion of Cuban and American cuisines, highlighting the exotic flavors of the former and the mouthwatering impact of the latter. This is all thanks to Chef Michael Beltran, himself a Miami native, who infused his Little Havana roots into his refined menu. The chef and his one Michelin-starred hotspot embody the city's culinary excellence with every dish, be it their local green mango-sweetened Crudo to their cuttlefish-paired Snapper.

Cote Miami

The much-beloved COTE initially earned its Michelin stars in New York City, but it eventually found equal, if not even more acclaim here in Miami. Touted as America's first and only (as of this writing) Michelin-starred Korean steakhouse, Korean-American restaurateur Simon Kim brought his award-winning barbecue cue grills and succulent meats down south, a place that has long loved such rich cuisine. Here, they're just as sumptuous, allowing customers to grill their steaks the way they want to and pairing them with the finest wines. What's not to love?

L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon

As of this writing, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon stands out as the only two Michelin-starred restaurant in Miami, a testament to its culinary excellence. The highly acclaimed restaurant chain has found considerable success around the world, from its first location in Paris to other destinations like Hong Kong, Tokyo, Geneva, and, of course, Miami. The latter continues the legendary Chef Joël Robuchon's tradition of serving French haute cuisine wherever the restaurant is, and fortunately, Miami welcomed him with open arms.

Le Jardinier Miami

Award-winning Chef Alain Verzeroli was already a pretty prominent Michelin-starred gourmand when he opened Le Jardinier in the Miami Design District in 2019. Hence, expectations were high for him to deliver, especially since his first Le Jardinier location in New York City also earned a Michelin star. So what was the verdict? Fortunately, locals and tourists alike agree that he knocked it out of the park again! His seasonal French menu never failed to tantalize taste buds, be it something as simple as Butternut Squash or as complex as Salmon Confit!

Los Félix

As a city with a lot of Latin flair, it's practically a given that Miami will produce countless top-notch hotspots with Latin American menus. Los Félix is the best testament to that, a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Coconut Grove. Even better is that the place's sole Michelin star is a green star, which highlights achievements in sustainability within their culinary practices. This doesn't necessarily mean Los Félix is a vegan or vegetarian place—some of its bestsellers include Chicken Tamal and Pork Cheek Carnitas, after all—but you still can't deny their efforts given this amazing recognition!

Ogawa

Ogawa is Miami's ultimate sushi bar, boasting an authentic Edomae-style omakase and one Michelin star. As easy as people may think it is, making sushi is no easy feat. Master Chef Masayuki Komatsu proves it with his delicacy of touch, intricately crafting these small delicacies with utmost care. Each bite brings out all the flavors of the ingredients, from the most savory seafood to the richest meats. It's enough to get you to traverse the often-hectic Downtown Miami just to dine here.

Shingo

Why enjoy just one Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant in Miami when you can enjoy two? Though Coral Gables is technically a separate city altogether, it's located so close to Miami, specifically its Downtown area, that it's often regarded as another prominent neighborhood. Luckily, Miami residents and visitors alike won't have to travel far to get to dine in Chef Shingo Akikuni's hotspot, which boasts a 14-seat omakase. Akikuni is well-known for its highly acclaimed sushi creations, so to get a chance to eat one is already a big deal!

Stubborn Seed

Who would've thought that when Chef Jeremy Ford one the 13th season of “Top Chef” that he would open a Michelin-starred restaurant in Miami? Well, Stubborn Seed certainly proves that not only was he always an excellent culinary professional, but that he also deserved to win that TV competition. And it's to everyone's delight and benefit that he put his talents to good use in a fabulous hotspot in Miami Beach. Ford knocks it out of the park with his six or nine-course menus, which include Crab & Spring Pea Tarts, his best-selling Wagyu Beef Tartares, and Ducj & Harissa Fagottino, among many others.

Tambourine Room by Tristan Brandt

This modern French fine-dining restaurant is the kind of place to take your special someone to when celebrating a milestone anniversary. It's that special! Tucked inside Carillon Miami Wellness Resort, Tristan Brandt crafted a fabulous Michelin-starred spot that puts classic haute cuisine front and center, especially since he also put some fascinating Asian twists on it. Each spoonful is worth every cent you pay for them, which won't be small at all!

The Surf Club Restaurant

The Surf Club Restaurant at Miami's Four Seasons Hotel is an institution of a restaurant in the city, even before it earned its sole Michelin star (for now). Naturally, it helps that the place has its world-famous Buttermilk Fried Chicken, which has become a major local favorite, even for those who can't necessarily afford to dine in the swanky restaurant itself. Its $30.00 to $90.00 buckets are enough to fulfill anybody anywhere, which further adds to the hotspot's incredible popularity.

Miami is as much a treasure trove of Michelin-starred restaurants as the cities hailed as the world’s food capitals. You’d be surprised at how many there are here and how they’re just as diverse as the city itself!
