Description

This two-bedroom, two-bathroom home overlooking the divine Place des Vosges is breathtaking. The immensely high ceilings showcase exposed wooden beams and sunlight streams through the full-length french windows down both sides of the building. A famous interior designer of Knoll, designed the entire apartment. In the impressive open-plan living and dining room, the fully-equipped kitchen is found within a huge yellow cube. As a testament to the homeowners artistic taste, Rogers, the architect who designed the Pompidou, stayed here during the museum’s construction.

Originally known as Place Royale, Place des Vosges was commissioned by Henri IV and completed in about 1612. The mansions that border the square have housed a wealth of notable aristocrats, writers and politicians and are steeped in history. Behind one of these palatial facades is found this apartment, Place des Vosges II, from which you have an incredible panoramic view over the Louis XIII garden in the middle of the square.

On the ground floor of the building are found the domed arcades around the square, which hold art galleries, shops and restaurants. The home is located in the heart of the Marais, a vibrant hub of activity where there are always exhibitions to stumble across or wine bars to test.

The nearest metro stations are Saint-Paul, Chemin Vert and Breguet-Sabin.
