Neighborhood
East-central San Francisco’s The Mission district showcases a blend of traditional and trendy, classic and contemporary, serene and sizzling. It has been built around the Misión San Fransisco de Asis, now the oldest building in the so-nicknamed Golden City. For its verve, the neighborhood has been dubbed by the San Francisco Chronicle, “the New Bohemia.” It is home to the San Francisco Armory, The Women’s Building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Mission Dolores that is on the California Historical Landmark list, Mission Dolores Park, and the 16th Street Mission BART station. It is marked by colorful murals and plays host to a number of annual events, including the Carnaval, Cesar Chavez Holiday Parade, San Francisco Food Fair, 24th Street Fair, LitCrawl, and Remembering 1906. It brims with art galleries, music venues, creative spaces, taquerias, fine-dining restos, and specialty shops. The iconic Golden Gate Bridge is a mere 25-minute drive from the property.
