Description

This elegant 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom vacation rental is a nifty nest in South Kensington, or what the locals fondly call “South Ken.” The neighborhood enjoys the reputation as the British capital’s museum quarter. It is also where you can experience the luxuriance of nearby Queen’s Gate Gardens, Lexham Gardens, Bramham Gardens, Wildlife Garden, and Hyde Park, not to mention the famed Kensington Gardens.

The split-level property graciously welcomes up to 4 guests, including infants, toddlers, kindergartners, grade-schoolers, and adolescents. The open-plan living space is at once snug and smart, and most of the décor pieces reflect the owners’ love for sailing. It features paintings with scenes depicting water bodies, not to mention a sailboat wall hanging. A few paces away is the kitchen, which is fitted with fine-crafted cabinets, updated lighting and plumbing fixtures, and late-model appliances.

Both bedrooms are bright and breezy, as expected, and these are conducive to rest and relaxation. The master suite boasts a king-size bed, a nightstand with a lamp on either side, a country-theme thinking chair, and a spic-and-span bathroom with a tub. Its glass doors lead to the brick balcony.

Closest tube station: Gloucester Road, which is a 10-minute southward walk from the eastern end of Elvaston Place.
