Amenities
Neighborhood
On the lower part of the Mouff is a permanent morning market, which is open every day except Monday, that make the street vibrant and animated. The Mouffetard market offers an array of seasonal fruits, vegetables, cheeses, clothes, and other French specialties. The market vendors are always cheery and enthusiastic, which is an added bonus to the rich Mouffetard market experience. It is no wonder that this is Hemingway’s favorite neighborhood in the city.
Another point of interest in the neighborhood is the Eglise Saint Bernard, which is a charming church that was built during the 15th-century, but finished in the 17th-century. It has Renaissance influence, and is beautifully decorated with beautiful masterpieces that are worth checking out. Just across rue Mouffetard is the rue de l’Arbalete in which the famous sculptor, Auguste Rodin, was born.
Excellent restaurants, such as Terronia, Bonjour Vietnam, Le Vieux Bistrot, and Le Buisson Ardent, are located nearby, along with bars and pubs, such as Little Bastards, Brewberry Bar a Bieres, Baker Street Pub, and Teddy's Bar. Cheap eats, some of which include Au P'tit Grec, Chez Nicos, Joe Burger, and Mobster Diner, can be easily accessed so you need not worry about your meals and entertainment during your stay.
Within the vicinity is the Place Monge metro station that gives you a hassle-free access to other attractions within the city during your short-term or long-term stay at the Mouffetard - Mange I.
