A Greek island known for its crucial role in the Greek War of Independence, Spetses is an affluent island that’s part of the Saronic Islands. Just a 2-hour ferry ride away from Athens, Spetses’ cobblestone streets and historic mansions are famous among visitors, especially during summer time. Although small in size, Spetses has been a great part of Greek history, and the island’s most interesting attraction, Bouboulina Museum, is dedicated to the late Greek heroine, Laskarina Bouboulina, who played a big role in the Greek Revolution. The Museum of Spetses, the Cave of Bekiris, Agia Paraskevi, and the Armata Festival are some of the attractions that Spetses offers to its visitors. It is recommended that you stay here for a night or two to truly enjoy the beauty of the place.
